Tiny gems and jewels in the garden this month. You need to look closely, under leaves and close to the ground. But they are there, shining in the gloom, awakening as the season changes. Hellebores have been going since last month, as well as the indoor and outdoor winter cyclamen. They've been joined by the fleeting crocus and the first of the season's geraniums and blue star flowers. Camellia Fairy Blush is still giving a good show, and Cinnamon Cindy put out a delicate blossom in her first year. And the first miniature daffodils are unfurling... spring is truly not far away.
I'm linking up to Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day. How does your garden grow this August?
Such a beautiful taste of spring in your posting today, Ruth. It lifted my spirits as we near the end of the garden season here -- always a sad time for me. Love your collage. I'm reminded to put cyclamen on my list for fall. P. x
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, I think cyclamen are probably the best thing about the winter season! I love them both indoors and out. But I'll be happy to trade them for daffodils in the next few weeks... so glad spring's nearly here!
DeleteI love your spring pictures. Our summer is approaching fall and it is interesting to observe you starting spring. I was so busy this past summer dealing with our drought here in the midwest of USA that I did not read too many blogs. It was awful! Watering 2 hours each day and trying to keep everything alive. Our gardens really took a beating. We are enjoying cool weather and our gardens are coming back. I always enjoy reading your blog when we are covered in snow-:)robbie
ReplyDeleteHi Robbie, glad to hear your garden is coming back after the drought. I love a hot summer, but drought is no fun! Hope you're enjoying the cooler weather now.
DeleteOMG...the Cylcamen are so cute!
