2013 Retrospective: Home

My second (and final) look back through the archives focuses on home photos... the little things I did throughout the year to make my home prettier and my life happier. I wish there were more finished craft and crochet projects here... I'm great at starting things but not always so good at finishing them. I did try to fix that in 2013 by starting a series called '12 Unfinished Projects' and I was going to finish one a month, unfortunately that went by the wayside! Though I am still working on my crochet hexagon blanket and the finish line is almost in sight, somewhere in the misty distance. (And there will be a celebratory post when that happens!)

So here is my small record of how my home and surroundings were in 2013:

  1. Ruth, you're very talented, I surprised how many crochet and embroider you did during the year! I love is the pillow case with roses and a button box, it's I need too.

    1. Thanks Nadezda. I probably did more crochet than embroidery this year, although I do love stitching! And I must confess, I didn't actually stitch the rose pillow case - I found the embroidered panel in a second hand shop! But I did sew it into a pillow :)

  2. Hi Ruth, lovely to see all your creative projects around the home and how you decorate with flowers. I used to crochet many years ago but it must be at least 20 years since last time I made anything. These days I do mostly embroidery if anything at all – I have an embroidery project that has been waiting far too long for me to get started, I think that will be my project for 2014!

    1. Good luck with your embroidery, as I've mentioned I'm great at starting projects like embroidery but not so good at finishing them! I hope you'll do better than I did :)
